Leeds Look Across With Envy

Sunday 31st January, 1999

Leeds United are tracking the progress of Bradford’s top scorer Lee Mills (right) but it is difficult to imagine City selling their top scorer as the Premiership beckons.

The Leeds scout sent to Valley Parade to watch Crewe’s talented Seth Johnson returned to Elland Road with high praise of the hat-trick grabbing City striker, recommending that David O’Leary sign Mills as a foil for Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

O’Leary has yet to act on this advice while Paul Jewell has issued a firm "hands off" warning to anyone tracking members of his squad, particularly Mills who has been linked to West Ham and Everton since his goals fired City up to second in Division One.
